Rethinking the Outdoors: A Modern Retreat by the Lake
The goal was to create a deck that would complement the stunning lakeside views while providing a peaceful retreat. The client wanted a space that felt like a natural extension of their home, ideal for both relaxation and entertaining guests. We focused on designing a deck that was not only functional but also visually appealing, ensuring every detail worked together to enhance the overall experience.
We selected TimberTech Landmark Boardwalk for the deck surface, a durable and low-maintenance material that provides the warm, natural appearance of wood. To give the deck a clean, finished look, we used Prefinished LP Smart Trim for the post wraps, ensuring both style and longevity. For the railings, we chose Fortress AL13 Glass Balusters in white, allowing for unobstructed views of Lake Michigan. This created a sleek, modern aesthetic while keeping the space open and airy.
Once completed, the deck felt like an inviting extension of the home, seamlessly integrating with the lakeside environment. The space quickly became a favorite spot for both quiet, peaceful moments and larger gatherings with friends and family. With the thoughtful choice of materials and design, this deck not only added style to the home but also created a functional and inviting space to enjoy the best of lakeside living.
